no it wont cause problems, will run better but of course will be alot louder.
have you considered straight thru mufflers ? not as loud, flow is so close to straights you wont know the difference and ALOT cheaper.

It will be louder but not too bad until you hit the jakes, Cats are generally quieter that the Cummins or Detroit with straights.

A friend of mine has 6" pipes on his 99 Pete,CAT powered of course and I've got 8" pipes on my Acert. His are louder and crisper sounding than mine. The 8" seem to have a lower rumble and not quite as loud. The exhaust on mine also has to go thru 2 turbo's as opposed to one and how much that contributes to the decrease in volume I don't know.

As far has pipes not working on a C13, thats BS.

Well the downfall is that the truck has a single stack. Will that be too annoying with a 6 or 7" straight??

why not 1 straight thru muffler ? or do you just have to have the srtaight pipe ? IMO, single straight sounds like crap
