Pulse turbocharging is not working without it. You can only have max 3 cylinders connected to same tube, if there's more they start to disturb each others exhaust blowdown event. In some test divided housing gave full boost over 1000rpm earlier. Great Fakes should have known that..

Just came to my mind, maybe you can use the stock exhaust housing with that new turbo. No need to buy another housing. Just block the waste gate to get full boost.

Might look into that the housings look the same, that could be why it has so much lag without the big injectors.

I'm going to be getting measurements from a 600 probably later this week to compare and may be trying it on the truck

Do you mean a turbo off a C16 ??
I have snapped 2 shafts on a C16 turbo,1 after blocking the wastegate hose and the other after playing with the wastegate actuator.
If the housing off my stock turbo fits this GT47 it could be a winner, thicker shaft, faster spooling and able to take more punishment.

Turbo's take a beating in this country because of the terrain a lot of powering up through the gears and then engine braking.
Most trucks run 4:33 or 4:11 rears and 95% of them are 18spd trans to cope with the hills.

Lenny may be onto something with lack of the split pulse thing resulting in poor spool up, be careful trying to fit your old exhaust housing to the Garrett turbo, it may look the same but have some small difference that causes problems, measure heaps first.

Is there any difference between turbo's with the 600s?

Very close to Garrett sheet of 47 but not guite. Impeller 80.7mm , 108mm , A/R 0,69 , exhaust 92,7mm. Maybe just a question of measurement accuracy. Biggest exhaust A/R for 47 is 1.39 . Maybe gt 50 is just a 47 with bigger A/R compressor and exhaust housing and wastegate? Only info I could find about GT50 is this

They are both Garrett and where it clamps to the center section looks the same.
Nothing is ever simple I think I might talk to the local Garrett dealer see what they think, they might even have a different housing for the 47.
