Lowering 379..??? //I have a 91' 379, with a factory 4 bag, suspension in the front end. I would like to drop the front end at least 4 inches. does anyone know how to lower this truck, with out breaking my bank account???? i was looking for smaller bags, but i cant find anything on the net, about this system, or any front end air suspension system.

I have never seen a 4-bag front air ride suspension before. I would love to see some pictures if you have them. Then we can go from there with your mod.

My first truck was a 91 pete with the front 4 bag air suspension.Personally I think its junk.I would just junk the whole system and install taperleaf's.Thats what I did to mine. You would have to send me a picture of the steering linkage aswell. The more you drop it you end up changing the distance from the steering arm to the end of the pitman arm. Some trucks don't change at all, other change significantly. This will change steering geometry and possible make the truck not turn as sharp in one direction or the other.

I talked to a guy at a truck show about this. He likes to set them up like so. Run a car hauler front axle with regular leaf springs set up so it sits as low as you want the truck to go. Then on top of that run air bags so you can raise the truck up so it's actually useful. You just dump the air bags down when you want to put it in the weeds.

IE, what else is different with the car hauler suspension? Remember, always use the calibrated eyeball to judge the angle of the dangle.
