| Fuel Position. Its what the Fuel table uses to control the amount of fuel in a given situation. So for example if you are doing 1000 RPM and 0 Boost you will only get 4.7 Fuel Position or what I refer to as Rack. If you have 1000 RPM and 17PSI Boost you will get 7.4 Fuel position or Rack C16 600HP that is on and will vary depending on Rating. Caterpillar still refer to their fuel in measurement. How people are gaining HP is by trimming the injectors so at a Rack of 8 you might only get 30CC on a STD Factory Trimmed Injector but at the Same rack of 8 you might get 35cc if the injectors are trimmed UP and that means more HP times 6 Cylinders. |

While I dont run an injector test bench for a living I do understand how the trim codes/files work. I also didnt say that setting them all the same was the ideal situation but it is a fact that setting them to _ _ _ _ (insert your prefered code here) does in most case increase power and improve fuel economy. While you are correct that increasing the fuel into a cyinder will increase heat and therfore will increase valve seat wear (and wear on the engine as a whole), you statement was " Just hope you haven’t been playing with your Trim codes as that’s the biggest contributor to Valve Recession. " and while it may contribute, as will anything that increases horsepower, it will not cause major valve damage. As I have said the only valve recession issues with C15s are a Cat problem and nothing to do with trim files. I dont need to see someone test injectors to know how they work or to tell you trim codes wont cause valve recession, I know of at least 100 C15/16s all running 4242 or 5232 many of them have over 1000000kms and they dont have any more valve recession issues than the C15/16 that are stock. Please keep in mind I am talking valve recession issues, not issues in general, anyone reading this who has trim codes done or hot fuel settings change out you big end bearings at 800000km, its cheap insurance that can save you big $$$ in the long run.

| is 4242 a new trim code? more hp than the other two?

| About the same, in some cases uses less fuel with only slightly lower power.
