I was going to say it couldn't be all that hard to convert a C15 to mechanical. A friend converted a common rail 5.9 cummins to mechanical. Custom billet front gear housing, Sigma, John Deere injectors through the valve cover. Done just like the Cat in the pic. You could drive the pump off the back of the air compressor and it shouldn't be impossiable to machine the head to accept injectors. I mean these are just larger versions of what's already been done to the smaller engines for truck pullers for years. They've converted a Duramax and a Powerstroke to mechanical injection, all it takes is money.

This looks like one of the Hibbits pulling team motors...they are some beasts.

Here is a video I took a few years back of Prohibited. They had the sled alittle light, he could have pulled it to the next county if he wanted to.

What about this, Cat-Sigma hybrid, looks much cleaner. Don't know if it can have as much lift as original sigma?

Would a converted ACERT be a better bet????
Stronger block and built for higher pressure's

Just thinking out loud
Acert block are the same as normal C15/16 blocks, I know they have cut weight out of the later C15/16 blocks too, maybe an earlier block would be better? And dont forget to add the bigger under block stiffener.

Probably right, the biggest C18 cam has an injector lift of 10.445mm, the rocker ratio is very close to 1.5:1 so the max possible lift is around 15.6mm without a custom cam, but I was thinking you could bore out the injector housing and fit a bigger plunger maybe?

Mr Haney, thanx for that awesome pic, got any more photos of the engine?
