fuel pressure gauge

I have an '87 Western Star Dump Truck with the 3406b that we just bought. I noticed it has a fuel pressure gauge but i have no idea what it should read. At idle it is "ticking" around 45 psi. when coasting it goes as high as 50 psi. When you're gettin on it then it goes as low as probably 35 psi. From the readings, what do they tell me? At what point can i tell the fuel filters need changed? We think the truck has been turned up in the past, but we dont know for sure. Truck has 800k on it, but we're sure it has had an inframe done. It carries a little better oil pressure than our other 2 dumps with the same engine with comparable mileage. Thanks!

Your numbers are good. If it drops below mid 20's you need to change filters. If that doesn't bring it back up you'll need new fuel lines.

You wouldn't happen to know the part #'s for the gauge or sensor would you?

My truck didn't come with a fuel pressure gauge, and I got a FL pressure gauge p/n A22-38923-000 but have no idea what sender to use with it. With FL they have to have a p/n or vin to look #### up.

Thanks,
Eric
