so it has been an interesting 4 weeks the truck has been in the shop 3 times; cracked break shoe, cracked fifth wheel, boot to air to boot leak, and then it blew a oil cooler hose on us 93 in nevada in the middle of nowhere. I am having trouble getting used to the schedule, you'll get a bunch of night driving loads and than a day one. But they are pretty nice people and they help you out when you need it. My FM got me home when I needed to be home and I know he jumped through some hoops to get me there. When my truck did need to be fixed they put me in the closest shop instead of making me drive it to one of theirs. So it's been a mix, I really don't like the grocery thing or the sound of the reefer while I'm sleeping so I think I may do what I originally wanted to do and switch to the flatbed side. I'm also thinking about L/O 30 months the truck is yours, instead of leasing 30 months than coughing up 20 grand to pay for it. Or if I can Ill lease a truck from a dealership. many opportunities to look into but I must be careful not to get screwed. So we shall see. Ill be able to update more frequently next time Im taking the laptop with me this next run.

good luck with things. who is your trainer? might know him/her?...

PS, cracked brake pad? Think you mean brake shoe right? Does your truck have NORAD like the new ones?

Thanks dmg..I do not have a trainer, I had a whole year experience when I started:biggrin_25521:

you are correct though it was a craked brake shoe, and if NORAD is the satelite tracking thingy than yes it has it.

no, NORAD is radar. Tells you if you are following (or being followed) too close or are out of your lane, etc..

    What is your truck number?

So back at it, went to Salinas, CA, loaded at fresh express, to Clakamas, OR. Had just enough time to make it than my trailer lights shorted out. that took 2 1/2 hours for them to fix, and there goes my appt time, even split shift wouldn't of helped, but they changed it now I got 4 hrs longer to get there plenty of time. Im getting tired of seeing what the inside of the shop looks like though, but thats trucking.

well I'm sure I'll see ya out there trebor, now im in sac for my 10 leaving at 1am for the con. My trucks making a funny noise like a card on the bike spokes, ain't sure what it is, it ain't too loud though. They say we only do AZ, CA, OR, and WA but I've delivered and picked up alot in Idaho, and seen most of Nevada, but thats ok more miles that way. I am kicking myself for not going to the flatbed side thats what Ive always wanted to do. Im going to call them about switching in the next few days.
