Meeting with my flatbed trainer on monday morning. Never been with a trainer before so it should be interesting, maybe I should have switched to flat when I was with watkins.

Took my last reefer load to Spokane, and checked out my truck, couldn't find a ride back so had to take greyhound.....

Good Luck to All of ya out there!!

I guess I understand them sending you with a trainer, but its all common sense stuff. I had a hard time tarping at first. I didn't bring enough bungees the first trip and had to stop and buy some. You need at least 2 boxes of 50 I think. I chained down my first load of steel with snap binders and got a little crazy with how tight I snapped them. It took me about a month to figure it all out. I was never a danger though. I just didn't know some of the tricks to save time and effort.

It isn't the law in all states, but if you stop in any of the big California scales and go inside they will give you guides on some of the trickier loads like coils. The rules in California for how many chains are a good guideline.

    LostOne9 Thanks this.

    Thanks for the info Truckinusa!

yea its probuably a good thing, going with a trainer to learn all the tricks and such. And it's only supposed to be for 2 weeks, I think I can handle being in a truck with someone else for 2 weeks. We do alot of coils from what I understand so maybe I'll have to check that out.

So far so good, I like flat bedding much better, even with tarping in 117 degree weather in Phoenix yesterday, but dang thought I was a gonner for a minute there.:biggrin_2556:

Got a good trainer though, we get along good, and since I only have to learn securement he's stoked cause we have been running teams, and getting lots o' miles.
should only have one week to go....

(maybe I should see if I can change the name of this thread)
