    Start with their websites.

If you can run across one of their drivers they'll know to apply.

You need to be more specific on FedEx - too many divisions . FedEx Ground (all O/O ) , FedEx Custom Critical (also all O/O ) . FedEx Express and FedEx Freight . UPS also has UPS Freight (formerly Overnite )

Just my opinion but I don't think they would even consider you for triples unless you have some doubles experience under your belt. :biggrin_25510:

If you've never pulled doubles then a set of triples in your mirrors is gonna look pretty long.....105' is the max here in Oregon. In Oregon, if you have a doubles endorsement then it is good for triples also. And I'm sure you would need the HazMat too since they haul all types of freight. I pulled triples for 10 years. It's easy. But I was scared poopless the first time out!

Most of them have you work the docks before they will put you in a truck I have a friend whom drives for Fed Ex on a bid run out of the hub in Huber Hights OH and he worked the docks before he got to drive for them

I did 5 years with FedEx Express. Go with UPS. Better company, you'll reach top pay MUCH faster, and they are Union too. I'm now a Union Structural Ironworker.

I know two guys that just left FedEx to go work for UPS.

Oh, you would need a Class A license with HazMat endorsement to drive CTV with FedEx. They will also send you to FedEx training facility for additional training.

I heard normally with FedEx you have to lease or buy your truck and run as an owner operator. UPS often hires out of the Port of Stockton,CA. They are UPS Freight devision. It is more difficult to get in on UPS Brown. With UPS Brown you have to normally start out loading trucks and after years or the waiting list, you may get a driving job. They pay very good but the wait is hard. UPS Freight doesn't require a wait, but you have to drive with a trainer at first. UPS is very tight on their driving rules, log books etc.

That's FedEx Ground...they also have to buy the route they'll be working in. FedEx Express CTV(Commercial Trailered Vehicles) drivers drive the company's trucks. I still say work for UPS instead for FedUp(that's what happens after working for FedEx for a while...you get fed up with the ########).
