When I first heard of the duck walk test which will take place at orientation, I had visions of Chuck Berry wielding his guitar across a stage.
Sorry, this has probably been answered before, if it has I cannot find it. My apology if it has.
Can someone here please explain to me exactly what the duck walk entails? I am guessing it happens under a trailer. How many steps is it? Is it forward and backwards, maybe from one side of the trailer to the other?
And, far as the physical capabilities test goes, are there pushups involved? Is it simply lifting 50 pounds? Exactly what is that please?
Thank you in advance for your reply!

With the duck walk, you start out by squatting. While remaining in the squat position, you try to walk. This is done to show the examiner that you have no severe back and joint problems.
I never had to do pushups, but I had to repeatedly lift and lower a basket filled with 50lbs of material over my head. For my physical, there were also heel tests and stepping on and off a set of steps for 3 mins straight. Mostly to assess heart rate, blood pressure, physical strength, and joint and muscle health. I had a pretty thorough exam for 1 hour when I was going through orientation at Knight.mysticguido, basstime54, Everett and 1 other person Thank this. -

It may be a joke but from recently crawling under trucks, it will keep your head from getting split open or bruised!
