The part in bold is not exactly true. You can take a week and still keep your truck, but will have to leave it at a terminal. When I did it I talked to Ken and he asked me if I was coming back LOL I said yes and he told me to just leave the junk in my truck and itll be waiting when I got back. Took a 1 week leave.
USX drivers...how's your day??

Did I say doberman..... He's a hound mix. Note the floppy ears and chocolate coat. -
That's unfortunate about the max days. We'll just have to make the best of it.
So, the floppy ears were my profile pic but I jusy added him to my avatar... Maybe it will show up now. -

If your looking to take more than at maximum one week off and you don't mind giving up your truck then the company has a 30 day return policy if you leave in good standing. That means if you return within 30 days and never attended orientation at a different company during that time then all you have to do is go to the terminal and pick up a truck and they'll assign you a load and off you go.

what everyone is saying about the 4 days is right (per company policy) BUT as a company team we always stayed home for 5-9 days and it was never a problem.......10 days was a problem, as a team we did stay home 1 time for 15 days and it was a problem until I reminded the supervisor we had a TORNADO rip thru town 1/2 mile from the house.... the tornado hit 2hr before we were going to leave
kind of up to your FM as to how they follow the policy....they have the policy BUT they can also bend it to a pointTruckDuo, BigBluePeter and NoCoCraig Thank this. -
I've always been told that I can take a max of 5 days off before I would be asked to turn my truck in. Now that I have a new truck, I don't know that they would actually have me turn it in if I wanted 7 days or so off. Kinda sucks when you actually get a good truck, makes you not want to ever take time off. I have seen people take two weeks off for vacation and they go their same truck back.

Thankfully things have changed since this thread started:
I started July 28th, 2014 and stay out 5 weeks for 5 days home time, my truck stays with me.Don't know what would happen if I stayed home longer, haven't tried.
I normally drop a trailer at a customer or the old Arnold Terminal in JAX,FL and Bobtail to Lake City.
The company has always gotten me home within about 6 hours of my requested off time (Sometimes earlier) so I really like it here.
Only complaint is low miles and being in the NE almost exclusively since then, 3 blizzards about tore me up on my good attitude.
I tried teaming before but the other drivers ate or slept more than they drove so I bailed.
However, USX has a TEAM MAX now that is supposed to get TEAM drivers .82 CPM and 6000 miles weekly or more. If I could find a non-smoking female who likes a lot of miles I would probably go for it, as for some reason I get along with wimmins better than men (I'm 65, look like Santa now).
And of course I'd like the O'O route, but USX won't lease to FL residents, I'm guessing because Florida has a strict law on interest rates/Loans, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
So now I have to find a way to save up for a good down payment and get to see something other than North of the Mason Dixon Line! -
I was from Florida and I leased with USX but that was in 2010-2011
