yes i'm a o/o now but i was a company driver for over 7 years before we got our truck, as a company driver (team & solo) i taken time off up to 15 days and didn't turn in the truck.... i've never missed any training, the only time i have a prob with logs i fixed by walking into t-hill with my laptop base gps to show THEN they were wrong.....

are they the best company no but they are better than alot. it's like any company it's a good fit or it's not. all companise have their bad side and good side it just comes down to if the good is better than the bad FOR YOU.

we've been very happy with them and will have 1,000,000 miles with then next year. i made good money with them (solo) better money (team) we make very very good money as o/o, as company drivers we were to the point that vp's would call us to do specal things for them but it took time to get to that point. alot of hard work but now we are in the top 20 trucks in pay, ez no but no one said it would be ez hard work WILL PAY OFF

we run (avg) 4 days a week and clear over $4,000 a week,(no we'er not home but at the motel on most weekends) thankgiving weekend i ran solo less than 1100 miles ran for 10.25 hr's 15 hr break ran for 10 hr's and cleared $2,300...

yes i know i'm talking about what i make now as a o/o but when i was a company driver my avg solo check was $750 a week as a team MY avg check was $1,045 a week. i was never late paying anything and paid off everything, we have a nice pu and nice suv a antique boat a house and land and it's all paid off we take time off when we want and where we want (as company drivers) the only thing i owe on now is the truck,

the nice thing about this site is that people can get alot of info from everyone (if they keep it frendly) you have your side and i have mine

your right tho we do just disagree on certain things and thats ok
    no harm no faul

and be safe out on the big road..

btw best of luck on the new job.

Craig - I am not really sure what it is that you seem to have against other people giving an honest opinion?

I come on here before, during, and after being with USX. I post on here to try and offer some other people a fair and honest opinion.

Your situation with USX and what mine was are two completely different things altogether. You run team with your wife, and I was running solo. You cannot compare apples to oranges. I use to value your opinion and what you had to say on here, but know I know the truth to it.

If you want to just be a cheerleader for USX, why not just stay over on the USX Facebook page where USX can control what people have to say, and when they don't like it, they just remove their access to post there.

    Respectfully,

    HD

I have no personal beef with you and when things go badly I certainly discuss it here. You worked for this comapny for a couple of weeks after training and I would suggest that the phrases "beat people like a dog" or "pay them slave labor wages" are a bit biased. My experiences with this company are not jst based upon pay, my wife had an accident with less than two months experience so we have a pretty intimate relationship with Safety, my first truck broke down 4 times in two months and we have had five blown tires so we have had a lot of experience with breakdown and I just renewed everything in my permit book so we just dealt with the permit department. In every instance we have been treated with compassion and professionalisim. I have been in senior management in a large company and this can only be a result of a top down push for a quality culture. I believe your experience is very limited and unique and to be honest I feel the problems you experienced where, for the most part, your fault and yet you insist on providing your "expert" opinion. This is not meant to be a personal attack and I believe you are trying to help others, but I would not take advice from a mechanic who had only worked on engines for two weeks either.

I do wish you the best of luck in whatever you do in the future

Well not to pick bones here, but craig in you profile it says you been trucking for 0-1yr so ummm you dont have that much experience either sir. Also is US Xpress the only trucking company you have ever worked for?

And one more thing I know I'm just some weirdo from the internet in some trucking forum but I think your talking about how much you are making at US Xpress is a bit exagerated. I may be wrong and really I don't care either way but how about posting your W-2? Blank out all the personal info of coarse but Id like to see a gross income of 50 grand, I call bull crap on that sir. I find it impossible to believe that I worked there as many years as I have and not even came close to that. You can say what you want theres no way. I was on that select driver board flood is talking about before you ever even started working there. I have and always will be a proactive, professional driver and I act accordingly. I ran every load they ever gave me, did repowers everytime asked, delivered and picked up early as much as possible. And if I couldnt make anywhere close to 50 grand I know you are exaggerating quiet a bit. Now combined income you and your teammate I might buy that, but not you alone.

These post are supposed to be truthful, factual, and helpful to others making decisons on companies they wish to work for. Not full of cheerleaders for companies that exaggerate facts in order to feel better about the company they work for.

well we drive teams for USX there is no sliding pay scale for us. the rest of the stuff guitar plyr said is true. But you learn to live with that stuff. what our problem is with after hr fleet manangers and planning MOST of them are worthless

50,000 is less than a grand a week. It's pretty easy for one half of a team to do that. So far I have been netting over 1200/wk. This week won't be so much because of home time, new years and getting stuck here for a PM.
