Couple questions about US Xpress

Lincoln......now there is a story.

Fist off, the terminal has been sold and is no longer open. Back in the day it was a really hopping place. There was a USX contractor who owned about 50 trucks that used Lincoln as their home terminal. The contractor left, and the terminal died on the vine. They closed the shop, layed off most of the staff. It looked like something out of a post apocalyptic movie. For a couple of years there was a for sale sign in front and we had to fuel there. At first it was a great stop for laundry but then the machines broke and they locked up the laundry room, the ice maker broke and never got fixed and the flat screen tv got stolen three times so it ended up with a 22" tv on the wall. For a while they still had some fleet managers working in the office but they slowly disappeared. To top it off, if you trusted your drivertech to get you to the terminal, the geocoding would take you to downtown Lincoln in the business district. Not a good place for a semi. They knew this but never told drivers so most new drivers would end up wandering around downtown Lincoln.

The good news is that Shoemakers is a great truck stop about a mile West with awesome showers and a good restaurant.

 

Yeah, they turned Lexington into a drop yard. That used to be a service center.

They gave me Lincoln for a fuel stop a couple times. It was a ghost town there.

 

Lincoln - Craig, laundry was exactly why I was asking. Lol. Darn.

Who's been to the Laredo & Dallas terminals ?

 

Ft worth aint bad. Dont get fooled by gps, the entrance is pff a service road, some gps get confused, lol. Think Randy found it for me tho. Not as good as Springfield or markham, but its not a dump like some others ive been to.

Randy was a weirdo. She's pretty sure he was smoking weed every night. He would close the curtains while she was in the front seat and a odor would come come thru. Then he would proceed to have a feast of the finest fast food. Lol

Do trainers get tested at USX ?

 

Yep...trainers are subjected to random drug tests just like everybody else.

I don't care for the Laredo terminal at all. The laundry room and showers suck. The roach coach that shows up there is awesome though. I usually stay at the J when I'm down there.

Irving is much nicer. Nice showers and laundry room. Lots of space too.

 

LOL I used to ask for Laredo loads just so I could eat off the roach coach there. Good stuff.
