Yesterday I spent the day parked at the Pilot Truck stop in Colombia SC, lots of US Xpress trucks there.

Drivers, I would like to ask one simple small favor of you.

PLEASE SLOW THE HECK DOWN IN THE TRUCK STOP!!!

Yesterday I saw several of your companies trucks grabbing gears and driving way way way too fast in the truck stop. One driver from your company in a bobtail came around the corner in the lot on the ice slid his drives and dang near parked his truck in the front of mine. Another almost hit me as I was walking over to the trash can.

I called your safety department, spent 10 minutes on hold before I hung up, its obvious at the corperate level that they do not care about safety, but I am asking you guys, please slow it down, and when it comes to your fellow drivers doing something dumb, if you see something, please say something.

This is the kind of stuff that gets people killed and wrecks perfectly good equipment.

I know we are all in a hurry to get where we are going and beat that clock, but it only takes a second to do something where you will never get a second chance.

I understand this is not all US Xpress drivers who run this way, I have friends who have driven for your company in the past, but I saw a large number of your trucks with drivers behaving badly to the point where I felt the need to say something.

I'd say hollar out on the CB, but most of these driver mill companied boys don't even run with the CB on.
And even then, all that would happen is about 20 other drivers telling you where to stick your thoughts on the topic of going to fast in a truck stop.

Carry good insurance, keep an eye on the Cascadias and move on, is all you can do I suppose.

You'll never reach Safety, Breakdown, Driver Hotline without a few hours to spare.

I see a lot of our guys talking on the phone with no headset.

That's funny because it's usually owner ops who whine on the cb about me going too slow in the truck stop parking lots.

I am thinking next time I find myself in that situation I am going to break out the video camera, post it to youtube, then they can find it that way.

Well I'm a new bee ... and just signed on with the company. I'm interested to see how this gets around the company.
