OK, made it through my 150 hours now and into about a month of phase 2. On a Marshalls and Target dedicated. 1st partner quit, 2nd partner is good. Steady miles is awesome. We haven't had a moment with a load!! I had an accident in Atlanta last week, then ran to California and to Virginia no problem.
Now we have been setting for the past 15 hours waiting on a trailer. Anyone got a gut feeling of what may be going on? Haven't even gottin a "go check here". Just a sit and wait. Should I be getting ready for a bus home?
No Trailer ... seriously!?!

pattyj Thanks this. -
What is the specifics on the accident? Who was listed at fault?

As an example what happens a lot there are 3 trailers in an area and 4 trucks. One trailer is probably sitting somewhere slowly getting loaded. Since you are at the bottom of the totem pole you got stuck. Night dispatch won't do much. Just go ahead and get your 24 in and layover pay. If by morning I haven't heard anything I would contact your dispatcher and remind him you have been sitting, we need to get me rolling. I would also remind him of layover pay. Keep your cool and talk level headed. Getting hot does nothing but negative things.

Yea what he said haha yea you do get more flys with honey most of the time -
Do you have a preplan? Most of the time they won't find you a trailer until you have a load.
Also, make sure your pta is correct.
Where are you? Could be in a slow area.TruckDuo Thanks this. -
Saunders, get a pre-plan. See if you can bobtail once you get a pre-plan. Hunting for an empty sucks.
More than likely.... they just don't have a load yet for you. Use the downtime to do laundry, shower & eat a GOOD meal instead of truck stop food. Lol.
What kind of accident did you get into ?OW/OP Wolfman Thanks this. -
I've never worked for US.. but at other companies when I found myself sitting I would try and make the dm laugh. .I.e.
Hey this is Jeff's mirror. .I hate to bug you but he keeps staring at me and he's really ugly. . Almost cracking me up and that's 7 years bad luck! Etc
I'd usually get a load pretty quick
Good luckDpec Thanks this. -
Got us rolling. Had preplan, but it wasnt a "hot load" so we were low priority. Accident was sin Atlanta. I was making a tight right turn and someone squeezed in and say I hit them. He got arrested and taken off in cuffs and I got cited for improper turn. Cops, pictures and safety don't see any markings on trailer and haven't determined if I actually did it. Don't know why he was arrested, but if I did hit him it was because he drove into it. I'm new, slow and hyper cautious, I wouldn't have started the turn if he was there.
