Extra stops are pretty rare. I think I've gotten maybe 4 or 5 a year.

    1. No. Your recruiter will tell you that they will get you home on the weekends to get you into an orientation and to get you hired. You will get home every other weekend if even that.
    2. $800. You will make less than what they tell you and you have to be in per diem for so many days.
    3. They have Peterbuilts, Freightliner Cascadias and Volvos.
    4. You cannot idle.
    5. You will submit your ticket to your FM through the electronic system.
    6. Yes.
    7. Yes, you have to stop at designated fuel stops. If you take your own route you will be charged $1.00 per mile out of the way.

Where are you getting your information? From hearsay or from actual experience.

    1) every other weekend is pretty standard unless you are on a dedicated account. Nothing unusual here.
2)The $800 a week is doable for a new guy. honestly I have to really slack off to make less than 1k myself but my rate is 42cpm, I break 1k at 2300 miles solo.
    3) right on the truck variety
    4) You can idle, it depends on the truck and wether you have a bunk heater on when you can idle. My old international would idle all the time, my new Cascadia only idles 70+ and 30- but with a bunk heater it isn't much of an issue, but then I prefer to sleep in a truck that isn't vibrating anyway.
    5) yes on all the tolls / ez pass
    6) It depends, some accounts have weird PU and Del times. Usually I don't have issues but yah it does happen.
    7) You can adjust your fuel stops if needed just call it in. Also 5% out of route is pretty standard industry wide also, IF you are doing more than that you might hear about it. I have yet to hear about any out of route issues myself, but considering the amount of loads I fix for them chances are they don't care how I go as long as I maintain my 100% on time rating.

Bam, thank you for your honesty. What else can you tell us ?

Does US Xpress care about their drivers ?

Do they monitor this forum ?

TD Every trucking company cares about their drivers in so far as they are the ones making the money for the company. To not care is suicidal for a company. A lot of drivers expect more that you should in this industry too though. I take complaints with a grain of salt because Ive seen enough guys ##### about things they could be fixing themselves. Somehow there are a ot of people that think they should be making 6 figures working 2 days a week and we know that isn't going to happen no matter how bad we want it to.

I guess what I wanna know is What exactly is training like for recruiters at usx? Do they come right out and tell you to lie to drivers or say whatever the driver needs to hear to come work here? What tactics do they teach you to employ?

I think a lot of it has to do with not volunteering information. If someone doesn't know the right questions to ask they wont get the answers they need Im betting.

    TruckDuo Thanks this.
