Question about team bonus/pay at US Xpress

    The reason I say you have to put up with BS is because you don't always get team runs.

    1.Sometimes its solo/super solo loads.

    2. Night/weekend dispatch called us sometimes to repower a load that is for a solo driver because we were the closest truck and then we would lose our team run.

    3. Some loads can take several hours to load/unload.

    4. Hunting for an empty trailer could take all day. Especially the trailers needed if your hauling carpet.

    Those are all the ones I could remember from the top of my head. Maybe the others who work at US Xpress can give some other examples of the BS we can deal with while out on the road.

    I preach the gospel of dedicated accounts. You make good money, work smart and not hard.

    1. Never have to hunt for an empty trailer

    2. Mostly drop & hook

    3. Go to the same places all the time

    4. Miles are fairly consistent

    5. CPM is usually higher

    6. Caliber of people you deal with is a step above the typical US Xpress dispatch lol

    US Xpress is in the process of buying the SouthEast division of Arnold Transportation so now the company will have a bigger footprint in Florida. The deal comes with the companies terminal. I forget which city. I'm sure once the dust settles they'll be doing orientation down there.

    Remember: This company is mainly a team company. Teams get better trucks. Better loads. Best part, you see the west coast a lot. The west coast is truck friendly compared to the east coast. As a team, we mainly are at a truck stop only to shower

    WE are getting the Jacksonville, FL terminal and The Duncan, SC terminal, Jax is good, Duncan is just a sand lot not good at all, If it was me I would close Duncan and re-open Lexington,NC It was a much better facility and we still use it as a drop yard anyway.

    The Lexington, NC terminal was in a weird place. Went there in the middle of the night to pick up a trailer. US Xpress should put some money into that place if they reopened it as a terminal.

    Are those two Arnold terminals nice ?

    The Jacksonville terminl is decent but not as good as the regular terminals. The Duncan terminal is just a dogbox in a sandlot. They would have to build a new structure there for it to be decent for drivers. and I don't see that happening.

    Max will never do that. Lol. I don't blame him. Too many drivers trash these terminals.

    I've mostly had the impression that dedicated accounts involve running back and forth between point A and B, which I think would get boring to me. Yet occasionally I have read remarks implying that there are some dedicated accounts that do have more than one route. Are those types mostly the exception? How many different destinations do you typically get to in a month?

    Throw the sense of adventure excitement out the window. Its just a job. You see the country from the interstate at 6t mph. Having a stable route is great, especially when you're new, when every new location you have to find you're hoping you find it without an accident.

    Like truckduo said tho, many dedicateds are running for one customer, not one route. Dedicated account isn't necessarily a dedicated route.
