US Xpress orientation road test

Can you please show proof of this?

No company in their right mind is paying commission to bring in someone just to fill a seat. Why would the company waste transportation, background check money and the man hours just to fill a a seat with someone who could go back home?

Use common sense people.

 

Don't listen to the people that are talking out of their ##### and don't know the score. I actually am a road tester here. If you are going into training with us it is expected that you will learn all these things during your training period with your trainer, maybe even me. As for the initial road test just don't run over anything and you will be fine. The ones we really scrutinize are the first seat drivers who will need to know everything from day 1.

 

You aren't helping by giving out bad information.

 

as far as using the clutch in a truck, most of the time you dont have to. if at the right rpm, it will fall right into gear. for example, i can downshift when truck gets down to 1100 rpms by taking it out then reving the engine up to 1400 rpm when dropping back to a lower gear. its easy once you get the hang of it. just be sure with even double clutching to rev that engine or it will not go into that lower gear. a car or truck is sychronized in the transmission to allow them to downshift at any rpm as to where an 18 wheeler doesnt have synchonizers in the transmission. that is why you have to use the rpms in order to get the engine and transmission in sync with each other in order to make it shift properly. good luck you can do it.

 

double clutching--- I've been driving for 11 yrs and almost never double clutched"only when shifter wouldn't act rt lol" dont worry about double clutching better to learn not to hardly to the clutch at all!

 

We were tested in an automatic and the road test was easy.

Thank You! The one thing that scares away good new talent from even showing up at orientation, is all the negatives that folks want to toss into the responses they post. We all started as NEW Drivers and had the same worries about how it was gonna work out!
I am going to sign-on with US Xpress for the Midwest Dollar Tree Account,(got my application sent in yesterday), but I have to go out with a trainer for a bit because it's been awhile since I last drove T/T. I am not afraid of it because it will help me shake the rust off and be a better driver.
