I graduated from a CDL school on aug.22 and am thinking about going with us xpress. The recruiter i talked to...said his name was Coleman...told me about a dedicated wal mart account that was available if i lived within 40 miles of Auburn Indiana. I have been trying to move to Fort Wayne indiana anyway so this caught my attention. The recruiter told me that Us Xpress would help me with the move...give me $1000.00 after 30 days and another $1000.00 after so many days of being with them. Before I commit to them I would like some feedback on the dedicated route vs. a regional route. He told me that I would average about $800 to $900 a week. I know a recruiter will sugarcoat things so I'm trying to find out from experienced drivers their thoughts on this. Thanks for any insight that may come my way!!!

get everything in writing before accepting any job.
A dedication route should pay you the same every time, make sure that route and pay is in writing.
before I came to Crete I asked them to put my pay in writing, ended up it was in writing and they wanted me to sign the paper saying I understand what my pay will be. -
We work at US Xpress. From what other drivers have told us the Wal-Mart dedicated is a good account. I believe they get you home long enough to complete a 34 hour reset every week. If I was a solo driver, I would do something like that so I'm home at least once a week. I couldn't answer the question about how much you can expect a week. Check out the US Xpress section....this account has been discussed before. One of those threads will have an answer on the pay.

Thanks freightwipper!! I also was told the same thing about getting it writing. I plan on doing that next time I talk to the recruiter.

Thanks for the reply TruckDuo! The way the recruiter explained it I would be home everyday. That be be cool if true. But on the other hand I wouldn't mind being on the road for awhile for the experience. I will try and find a thread about the pay...any advice from you can give a newbie will be greatly appreciated!!!
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
How did that Wal-Mart account work out for you? I have been wondering if you really are home every night and the pay?

I run the walmart dedicated out in Olney, IL. Some people love it some people hate it. Wife has new job offer in Raleigh. Probably going to try and get on with Xpresss. I own a truck and am leased on to prime. I was wondering if anybody has seen any guys bring there own truck in and run for xpress out of there?
