Hell I always figured they were watching here. Always kinda hoped they would figure out who I was and Id get the good runs so Id puke out info that makes them look good LOL. I call em like I see em and Im a mercenary though so who knows what they would do to me, but after 1.5mil miles Im not all that worried that I couldn't replace them..., in about 5 minutes..., with 1 or 2 phone calls. Thing Is I actually like it here.... when things are going right. And to be honest things aren't going right right now, but its not something in their control. They gave me a new truck and it had issues after 5k miles, ITs not something they did wrong though, so its the freightliner guys I want to beat with a garden hose instead. They are trying to accommodate me, so no point in being pissed about them doing what I asked them to do. Just gonna deal, get my truck back and get on down the road.

I worry every once in a while about what I post on here. I've thought better about a post or two, but then I tell myself, OTR carriers can be treated just like they treat us, a dime a dozen.

Sorry - I forget that most know, or go to my page and look. It's Old Dominion Freight Lines.

YUP. And the message about the FORUMS went out right after this thread was started... http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...finally-buys-out-arnold.html?highlight=Arnold

I agree what others have stated here about being honest. As long as a driver is giving honest feedback as to the strengths and weaknesses of a company, and stays away from mindless bashing and name calling, there's really nothing to worry about... in other words, when stating information about your company just be PROFESSIONAL about it.

I'm glad companies read this forum. It may help them to get their act together a little better and in turn help will benefit their drivers.

So here's a message to US Xpress: make sure you don't order all new trucks with just automatics. Not all drivers appreciate them, and a good argument can be made about how they are less safe than sticks... and since SAFETY is a main concern (not just fuel economy etc etc etc) both should be offered in a fleet.

Personally I hate autos and if that was the only option available I'm pretty sure I'd have to move on...

Having company execs "watching" isn't a bad thing; if they're so inclined, they can get a feeling for how their employees approach their day-to-day work and work to improve things. A long time ago, one of my former company execs 'found' a post I wrote, liked what he read, and called me on the phone. I got a nice warm-fuzzy out of it. It's been my experience that most "gritching" we do results from a mistake we made or an unmet expectation or an unreasonable expectation. I've made the unintended mistake of mentioning a high-dollar load I was delivering to a warehouse that also resulted in a cautionary phone call from our security department; when I thought about it after the fact, I realized that telling the public that I was carrying high-dollar things, even if I wasn't, just opened the company and me up to the possibility of a nasty experience. Never did that again, nor will I.

USX has a policy forbidding posting of info by their employees, good or bad. They like to control their image, like most corporations.
