    I'm considering going to US Express as a trainee, I would like to get some insight on the company other than the pig recruiting;
    what is a average of miles per week & cpm to start
    how is US about home time, I live in NC near Burlington
    How long is training

    1. 2,500 to 3,500 miles per week. Get on a dedicated account that is mostly drop & hook. Don't do Dollar General or any of those accounts that require you to unload.

    Here is the link to the US Xpress pay for solo drivers:

    Looks like you'll be making 32 CPM after your training and 8 weeks of teaming is over. At a year you'll be making 38 cpm.

    2. One day off for every week out but if you want more time just request it. The company will give it to you. We always took at least 6 days off a month. The company has a drop yard in North Carolina that used to be a terminal. Getting you home wont be a problem since the company has lots of freight in that area.

    3. Training I believe is still 150 hours which is about 3 weeks then 8 weeks of teaming then your on your own.

    SouthernBelle21 Thanks this.

    Cool appreciate the insight, is there a minimum time you have to stay out? What are some drop & hook dedicated jobs in the NC area.
    do you get to take the truck home

    1. If you want to make money then you'll want to stay out at least 3 weeks.

    2. R.R. Donnelley was the account my 1st trainer did. It was drop and hook and good miles. Paper loads though. Very heavy. This company has lots of dedicated accounts. Talk with a recruiter.....remember....don't let them push the BS accounts on you.

    3. You can take the truck home but they'll expect you to take an empty trailer home too

    Yea I prefer 2 weeks out, but I'll do 3 if the miles are going good. Im gone figure they probably will try & push them driver unload dedicated jobs first. I don't mind taking the trailer home also, got a lot of options to park at. Just looking for a good company to start with, do Arnold still run regional or did US take over regional

    Thinking about US Express...actually a tie between them and a couple of others at this point. They have a home daily dedicated for Meijers in my area.
