not true.... fmcsa DOESN'T requier it at this time... only recommends it.... most dr don't understand that...... just like most dr think if you have type 2 diabetes and take metforman you can only have a 1 year card.... that is also UNTRUE... fmcsa recommends it but doesn't requier it

It's actually a group of risk factors, including BMI, neck size, etc. I believe the neck size criteria is >17"; certainly not 14½"!
I did a recent orientation at USX, and they recommended me to get checked out for sleep apnea. Note, I said recommended, not required.
It is a serious thing, but I already have a weight loss plan in place, and that's a much better fix for the sleep apnea I don't have anyway. :biggrin_25523:
I had to laugh at the silly question during the pre-screening. The nurse asks me "Do you snore when you're sleeping?" I told her "I don't know. I'm usually asleep at the time."

If I remember correctly on the blood pressure, the limit is 140/90. They were actually pretty good with me on that. I was over the first time, 150-something. I was kind of tense and nervous at the time too. That is not a typical reading I ever get in the doctor's office, etc. They flagged it, and when I saw the doctor he measured it again and it was down to the limit, and then the nurse measured it one more time and it was well within the limits, so I was good.

Depends on what the guy doing the road test has. You have nothing to worry about with an automatic. Its like driving a car.

Real good and accurate info on this subject. We just had one of our drivers fail his medical test, when he was renewing his card, all because he answered yes to the question do you snore. Because he aswered yes, the nurse then took measurement of his neck and issued him a temporary 3 month medical card and told him he had to take a sleep apnea test. To say that he was upset about this is an understatement. He then asked the nurse to give him his card back and stormed out of the office and said he'll take his test somewhere else, even if it meant paying for it out of his pocket. So if the rumor is true, about being flagged, then I'd hate to see what happens when he goes to the other place to be tested. So in the future, do not answer yes when they ask you if you snore.
