LOL You sound just like my Ex Wife. She did go out with me, and I would hae to make her go back to the truck at some receivers. She would start argue with them over petty stuff, and make things harder.
good post enjoyed the read and good luck..

Great Post, very well written.
It really demonstrates the different attitudes that affect a person's outlook, whether it be Trucking or just life in General.
Thanks for the smile.Hometime Thanks this. -

Great post but honestly if your as Anal as you say you are trucking probably wont be for you. But it seems too be great for the hubby.
Trucking honestly its a lifestyle not a job. Just remember that if you ever start. -

Hometime U are so cool I can't believe it. I loved your post. I just came off of training and had the trainer from hell. In fact he was so bad i asked for another one. I am torn right now. I did all the things your husband did but I'm not sure "over the road" is what i want. With out OTR experience its tough to get a good driving job. I'm thinking about Expediting, but the economy is bad. So I don't know what i should do? I'll figure it out. But you are right - they are all bottom feeders.

Hey thanks!
It's funny to see this thread pop back up. Another two months have come and gone since I first posted our story so hubby is now at the five month mark. The adventures have been plentiful but he is still hanging in there and enjoying the ride.
He went to NYC . This past week he made it through snow in Colorado. I guess in the end he hopes he will have the type of experience he needs to go anywhere when he gets far enough along with miles and time.
US Xpress has it's problems. For the most part there is a huge gap between the suits and the drivers. But I can honestly say that is not uncommon in any LARGE company whether it be trucking or another industry. Large companies with corporate offices generally have too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. And the Chiefs forget exactly what it is the Indians do but they sit around every day planning for better ways for the Indians to do whatever it is they do. LOL
The good news is that not every day is a bad day! Some weeks are smooth sailing with plenty of miles!
I wish you the best with whatever decision you make. This is a TOUGH lifestyle. Good luck! -
Your husband sounds as though he is a hard and honest worker. USX is a good company; are you planning on joining him on the road? You could be a team.
