Hi all well thought i would start a new thread here last one was C1 school. I started my training at usa with orentation on AUG 23rd in Van Buern AR. lasted 4 days went really slow classroom paper work and the small dorm rooms looked like jail cells! The last day meet our training cordanator and he was nice said my trainer was waiting for his truck! On friday the 27 got a phone call from my training cord and said are you awake was at a motel it was 8 am i said you woke me up! LOL he said my trainer was ready and i called him and he picked me up! Was really nervous and he was a young fellow so got in the truck and found out I was his first student! He was new at training but been with USA for almost 2 years! Well we went back to the termanal to get the trailer that was being worked on and left to deliver the load that was on the trailer! He said i could drive boy i was nervous! I was grinding grears trying to remember everything from school! He told me to relax and try floating the gears! Ya OK! I tried to but omg it was funny took me 2 days at trying to float gears before i got it down! well 14 days later of driving backing going to alot of places i have never been or seen he told me that was done with phase 1 training! So my wife came to get me in VA and i am home right now leaving to go to Georgetown KY to meet up with my other trainer for phase 2 driving as team! I am really liking USA and keeping a open mind! Everything i have heard from other drivers they say USA is a great place to work your just not a truck number! I am really liking and loving life on the road been my lifes dream and now i am living the dream! Oh ! more thing to share with all of you! I was comming out of Vidala LA after picking up a load we were going down a 4 lane highway it was about 1am and toped over a hill! My traniner said you see that I said yes OMG what is he doing! There was head lights comming at me in the left hand lane on my side not on the west bound his side, I slowed down and he went right by me! Man was that scary! Well I will keep everyone posted as to Phase 2! Drive safe all

Good luck with driving Phase 2. It takes a couple nights to get used to driving at night, that 2 o'clock time period was hard for me but I went through it and finished my training and have been solo for two weeks.

WV....6:15 am....9/13 D-Day. Arrived # the hotel in Ft Wayne (Hallmark Inn) early Sunday evening to get settled.....Started reading about pre trip...pre trip! For the record, the hotel is not the Ritz...but is it supposed to be? I say no! It has a hot shower, A/C and a fridge so it is fine....It was quiet last nght. When I arrived I had a roommate but only saw him 1 time. He came in the room and got his stuff and left, quit! Stated he could not stay away from his family. So now I have a room to myself for the next 3 weeks! Great way to start out! The hotel manager said that they have already been paid for his spot so I can remain alone. I'm excited!
So far the bad rumors about the motel have not lived up to the hype, I suspect the other rumors wll fall short as well! More to follow................... -
