When I started C1 school I understood that to get the $1000 of the $1200 all I had to do was pass my upgrade training and become a 1st seat driver. While I did not apply with USA Truck because of this bonus, I am not happy that they seem to have changed the terms. Now to get the rest of the bonus you have to now do the upgrade plus get your hazmat endorsement. I was thinking about getting my hazmat, but now I think as a mini protest I will not seek this. I could use the $1000 but not now. Thanks USA Truck you can keep your money now.

    lv gn Thanks this.

From the start they offered a bonus as long as you can receive a Hazmat ndorsement within 90 days of sign on.

So you will give up a grand to be a martyr.

If you have $$ to squander so be it but, at the end of the day the majority of employers will require you to have a haz-may so why not take their dough and then walk across the street to a new employer.

Beat them # their own game!

Isn't it pretty cheap to get the haz-mat too...Like $100???

I would gladly pay $100 to get $1000....Plus I read on another thread that USA Truck pays you back for this as well...IDK if they do as I am not employed by them...

As far as i know you do not need your haz-mat to work for USA it is a option they told us we had 90 days to get ours at c-1 but when i got to orientation you do not need it

On thursday jan 20th I finished my USA Truck upgrade training and am now a first seat driver (no tractor assignment yet). While in Van Buren I asked Karen Davis about this. She told me none of that was true, and the hazmat endorsement has nothing to do with the sign on bonus, and she said this was confirmed. Soooo we will see.:biggrin_255:

I do plan to get this anyway. :biggrin_2551:

Actually I kind of regret some of that first post. I was having a real bad day that day, and that email just hit me the wrong way. Thankfully its not true.
