Ok so I just finished my orientation with USA Truck and I am currently waiting for a trainer. My questions are simple. 1) If anyone here has knowledge of how long Ill wait for a trainer. 2) Since I have experience driving a truck (Dumps, Fire engines & Tankers) will I have to be out 4-6 weeks with a trainer. 3) Im kinda gettin a bad vibe ( hard to explain completely) about the company and just want some general input from anyone who has worked or is working for USA, and 4) If I wanted to go to a different company and since I am a student driver can I do so and have the re-payment taken out of my check from the new company.. any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

First to address your question on how long you'll be with a trainer...if you're a student driver then yes most like you'll be out with your trainer for 4-6 weeks. If USA Trucks paid for your school then you're stuck. Not stuck in a bad way, but you signed a contract to stay with them & its best to make good on that contract. But its just 1 year. Or you can leave early & have them on your butt for the money. Just make the best of it. Get you're experience and pay off you're debt and you can go almost anywhere you choose...Not sure how long you'll have to wait on a trainer, that depends on if the company has a trainer available for you in your area. I started with Swift after school and i waited about a week. I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for the input Speedy.. I was just curious about the changing company thing cuz I have heard through the grapevine that you can leave and switch to PAM or another company and USA will just basically send a payroll deduction request to your new company to cover the debt....Thanks again for the your input.

Im not too sure about all that. I wouldnt think that USA Trucks would let a driver go to another company that they paid money for & lose out on the driver & the money. But theyre both with DS so maybe they have a way to work all that out. Neway, your welcome..enjoy your new career.jaycal Thanks this. -
Speedy, I am actually proud to be working for USA, dont know if its too early to be saying that but oh well I said it. I have read alot of posts on here about people with negative experiences with USA, all I can say is I am glad to be working again. I have spent 19 years in the food service industry and have yet to make over $22k a year. Hard to raise a family on $22k before taxes. Im sure I will enjoy my Career no matter what company it is with. Overall I think that any experience with any company is based off of individual opinions...however, input from experienced drivers is always appreciated in my book....Thanks again !!

I actually contacted another company today. Filled out the app and now my app is in the hiring center and I have to call them back tomorrow. I also called DS and they said as long as the debt is being paid, I dont owe USA Truck anything so if the other company hires me, Im gone..

Some companies will take over your contract for you if you tell them and they want you. I had a friend leave USA and went to USX and they did that
