I agree with you, but a lack of common sense still does not make the USA driver the cause of the crash. It was bad judgement to make the u-turn but the u-turn did not cause the bus to crash into him. The crash was entirley the fault of the bus driver.

Was it legal at that airport to make uturns?None the less the DOT will twist this around and make it out to be the trk drivers fault.I see a long legal battle in this.

You know as well as me that sometimes U-turns are unavoidable. The shuttle bus driver was clearly 100% at fault here. Notice he crashed right into the side of the tandems. Meaning the truck was already at a 90 degree angle to him. How do you not see a 13 foot 6 huge white wall in front of you?? The guy was probably texting or doing something stupid. Remember shuttle bus drivers are not professional drivers in my opinion but rather steering wheel holders.

Two things here; That looks like it may be a legal place for a U-turn so how did the shuttle driver not see that wall across her lane? Distracted driving? Also, numbers are a funny thing, you can do anything you want with them to fit your needs. 251 accidents out of 2300 trucks in two years. About 5% per year. Is that high or low? The shuttle company has had one accident but notice they didn't list the number of shuttles they run. Probably far less than even 100. Your odds for accidents increase exponentially the more equipment you have on the road daily. Im not defending either side, but just remember the press presents the article they way they want you to interpret it.

No it doesn't. Never figured out how people who do stupid things think they can speak on behalf of 'all of us'.

Wouldn't have done what the USA driver did but the bus driver gets more of the blame.

I suppose you have never made a u-turn ? A lie has speed but truth has endurance.

I've made uturns and still will if I have to.But never at a place where ppl gather.I would ask someone the nearest place to turn around.I also would make sure the area im making a uturn is plenty big enough.

In a truck I have made one u-turn. Lots of room to do it, lots of time to do it, not another vehicle around. Sorry to jump on you but you made it sound like a common occurrence which it shouldn't be. I sure as heck wouldn't have tried it in that situation.

I've driven a long ways to avoid making a u-turn more than once though.
