Glad to see things worked out in your favor. It was starting to appear a bit "iffy", but it looks like they finally wised up. Much cheaper to settle on your terms, than risk a lot more bad publicity, especially when their employees were clearly at fault.

Good luck, be safe out there!

LOL, USA is proud of their "training." That's what 30 CPM gets you

I dont think the trainee was at .30cpm, unless the rate has gone up?
At the end of the day, there are going to be idiots in any group.
I run for a smallish (under 200 trucks) specialized carrier. Our safety rating has always been top notch, and our safety guy is a real prick at times, but that's his job I guess.
A driver that came to us with his own truck, then lost it, was in a company truck with an oversize load.
Parked in a truck parking area, he gets up in the AM and backs into a truck parked behind him.
Insurance etc all swapped, then the idiot backs into the same truck again! This time the guy that got hit is obviously a little perturbed (understatement I bet). They both get out, and the hittee comments that the hitter has beer breath. Long story short, hittee calls cops, hitter goes to jail, company get the truck and trailer picked up and load delivered.
I can 110% guarantee that our safety guy had absolutely no idea of this drivers habits, and those of us that had an idea aren't snitches. I have run with the guy, and true enough he would drink beer at night when stopped. At 6am he was ready to roll and appeared perfectly normal though.
We are mostly 20+yr veteran drivers here, so a little of the "old times" is still present, for both good and bad.
Moral of this diatribe? Bad things happen to good companies, through no fault of their own. Drivers are, by nature, loners to a certain degree after all. Thus trying to keep tabs on them is nigh on impossible at times.
Lets let this one go folks, I have no beef with USA Truck, and seeing as it my brand new rig that was hit, that should hopefully put it to bed. yes, I was as guilty as anyone at the beginning, as emotions took over my common sense. Lets try to not let it happen again?
Be safe out there, and if you see me boogying down the road with this, shout at me on Ch5!
