Think I spent the last few hours reading the last year of posts here! Right now I'm tenatively scheduled for training at C1 in Little Rock on the 16th. Dont worry guys, I already have my CDL-A and a bit of previous experience, just not in the last 5 years. Hopefully come early Jan I'll be in Van Buren for Orentation.

    So a few questions,

Previous job I was able to tell my fleet manager "No NYC and no chains". Is that doable at USA Trucks? I'd prefer to stay out of the NE as much as possible, not because of snow but because it's just so #### unfriendly to truckers.

Previous posts looked like yall were headed to the elogs, is that fully implimented now?

What are the typical trucks I'm likely to get for my first? Do some still have the APUs? What is thier inverter policy? I've got a 1500watt somewhere around here if I can find it that I'd like to bring.

Think that's about all I can ask for now, thanks for the info. Stay safe and warm out there fellas, cya soon!

Here's some answers to your questions: No forced dispatches to NYC. You will run the NE. You will be required to use chains if your route requires. All of the trucks have either APU's or EPU's and 1500 watt power inverters except for a couple of the 2013's. The elogs have been tested on and off for several years but still haven't been implemented company wide.

Check the side of the truck.

Does it say "OzzyOKC Trucking". ??, or "USA Truck". ??

If it says USA Truck then you'll probably get to do whatever THEYwant you to. :)

No one can force you to do anything. Chains are usually required by some states to be kept in the truck. I don't use them. You may not go into NYC, but you will go around it allot. Lots of glass going to Southern Mass. Lots of Joyzeeeeee. :) God that North Burgen lot sucked.

Lets see if I can reply to your post with the same tone.

The truck I'm assigned will not move one #### inch unless I decide to make it do so.

    How'd that sound? :)

...yes I'll do whatever they ask me to, cept NYC which has already been answered. Thanks

The company also owns the truck and can take it from you on the spot and leave you stranded on the side of the road and all the law will tell you is that it's a civil matter.

The point of my reply was to show that I too could sound like a dick while speaking an unneeded obvious truth. My original question was geared more towards the idea of running west of I35 instead of East.

Lets not let this go any further in the negitive

The first time I worked for them I was all over the place. The second time I didn't see any North West. I did go to LA a couple of times. Once you get out there you get stuck over in that area hauling trash to Compton or was it Wilshire? Or hay from Southern Arizona.

They hay loads are always and adventure finding the ranch out in the middle of nowhere. Hay also has an extremely low ignition temperature and becomes a spontaneous combustible when hauled inside a trailer in the summer heat, not to mention the smelly unusable trailer you have when done.
