Yup had an argument with my dispatcher over that. She was trying to send me to get a full load of totes and I refused because I didn't have tanker. She put me in hold for a few.minutes and then came back.on apologizing. I just grinned.

The tanker endorsements are easy to get though. When I got mine the test was a total of 3 questions.

I think the tests are progressive starting with the hard stuff. If you get a couple of the hard ones right you dont have to answer the easy stuff.

The fuels mileage is calculated in two ways

    1. Yes, they do take the dispatched miles and divide it by the fuel purchased.
    2. They take your odometer reading from your QualComm and divide it by the fuel pruchased

Both of these go by the month, not by the load. And if any of you are wondering how I know this, I called fuel economy a few weeks ago to discuss this specific issue. Fuel Econ will take the best average of the two and use it for your performance card. So in turn bobtailing will actually increase you fuel average.

I've also found that you can really increase your fuel milage by not using the clutch. The only time I use the clutch is when needing to make a quick stop. I don't even use it to down shift.

I have a clutch in my truck to but never use it since its not needed. With a non synchro trans you only need the clutch for starting and stopping. If you learn to shift without the clutch you will see a increase in fuel mileage. Shifting without the clutch is probably the reason I average 7.1 mpg vs your 6.
