Just wanted to know how that went for ya all. speaking of course of Van Buren Terminal.
Did you get your own truck right away? Did you get a load right away or did you take home time?
How long did you have to wait to get your own truck?
I am curious cause my Boyfriend is on his last week with trainer.
Thanks in advance.

They usually send them out right away to get their truck if they want to go and then route them home to get it packed. But its usually up to the student. Your boyfriend still has to pass the upgrade test. And from what I've seen lately the testers have not been letting things slide. Which is good. Tell your bf to do everything by the book if he doesn't want to do a couple more weeks with a trainer.
-
LOL my boyfriend has been driving way longer then the trainer, lets just say he is teaching the trainer. And what does the upgrade test consist of?
-
Well, that's good and bad to hear.. the testers are picky and want things done their way, but as I said. As long as he goes by the book it should not be a problem. The test are multiple choice and cover logging, trip planning, qcomm, safety policy, company policy. Plus a road test. The road test is where all the bad habits come out. Something simple like not doing a turn correctly will be cause for concern even though your bf may not think so.

OK thanks so much for your advice/help

So did the bf pass and get his truck?
-
No, He will be out 4 weeks on the 6th. Not sure if his training will be done then or if he will be staying out 5 weeks. He still hasn't heard anything about it from USA.
-
Training is usually a minimum of 150 hours driving and a min of 28 days behind the wheel. Then if he is ready the trainer will call it in and USA will start looking for loads to get him in for upgrade. But that could take some time to do too..
Then, if he messes up and fails they either send him home or set him up for another minimum of 2 weeks. If he passes it will be his choice to grab a truck if one is available or go home for a break. -
He's NOT gonna fail. He started his week on team drivin yesterday WOOT~
