There is a lot of freight going to and coming from the northeast. Problem is that it is difficult to get miles when you are constantly sitting in traffic.

You are exactly correct, to be able to run the miles, especially up above Virginia, you need to run the back roads, or run during the late hours, stay off the roads during rush hour if at all possible. I don't mind running loads up to the northeast area, because I can count on my fleet manager to get me a load back out with good miles. For example, last week, I took a load from Cowpens, SC. to Amsterdam, NY. then I ran a short load from Wilton, NY. to Niagra Falls, NY. Then they deadheaded me to Bradford, Pa. where I picked up a load from Georgia Pacific, that went 2100 miles to Phoenix, AZ. USA Truck has the loads to keep the drivers moving, you just have to prove to them, that you can manage your time, and keep the truck moving as much as possible LEGALLY.

I'm not calling you a liar but it sure is strange to me why a corrugated container plant would ship a load from PA all the way to AZ especially when they have a box plant in Yuma. I've been with USA for 6.5 years and have taken many loads of role stock into that PA plant but have never once loaded there.

I wasn't calling you a liar and you certainly do need to prove anything. I know they occasionally book those longer loads when there's not enough crap available to load all of the trucks.

I left my company and came to USA Truck. Been here about 3 weeks and already I have logged more miles in 3 weeks than I did in one month with a well known refer company. It is what you make of it. Good luck

It was my fault, never said it wasn't. But I have turned more miles in one week here than I did with my old company.

You can run good miles here. I usually average between 2800 - 3500 per week. It's a little harder to hit the 3800 mile weeks now that I'm on elogs though.
