I'm not that great with a road map and I've never even heard of a truckers atlas till a while ago. So there is enough time to make your loads even if you get lost a few times? And is map reading and the atlas a part of trainiing? I thank you for telling me all this.

According to our companies first quarter financial report the average miles per week per truck was 1958. My first quarter was 2011 per week. Now the month of May has picked up, over 11500 miles for the month.

I start with driver solutions on 11/14/11, Im from Fort Smith, 10 min from Van Buren. Im super excited I have signed up with USA Truck as my sponsor. I have heard nothing but bad things about them so thank you guys for showing a more positive side. Oh im a girl by the way. I am a hard worker, dedicated stay motivated and positive. and dont let others get me down. May I ask a few ?'s please. some people were saying that you have to pay for orientation? is that correct, and that they were not getting checks from usa that they were gettings statements for negative balances that were owed the company is that possible? Im looking to start an awsome career, and make really good money. My training pay is 350. week minus the 45. for school, and then I start OTR for 25 cpm. I understand that is low but im cool with that until I get my experience. Can someone take a min and let me know what Im in for with USA Truck it would be super appreciated. And in closing I have the utmost respect for Truck drivers it takes a special kind of person to do that. So with much respect thank you

You don't have to pay for orientation. You first few checks will be mailed to your home, so there might be a delay getting them. Since you are so close to the terminal shouldn't be an issue for you. You training pay will be $350/week, but the $45 will not start coming out of your check until you upgrade, and get your own truck.

I know you have to start somewhere, I am also sensitive to the fact you think you have been told all of the available information. I hope you have, but before you sign those drivers solutions contracts I suggest you see if you can find some USA Truck drivers and ask them about the current conditions there. Listen drivers solutions is a good school, but they are not the only school. I implore you to please look at all your options first. Drivers are quitting USA Truck in droves, make sure you have both eyes open as you sign those contracts.123456 and cholosgirl Thank this. -
If you have a bunch of bills. I would research this topic real hard. See what other companies can offer. I havent had but a few weeks over 2000 miles since January. Be careful.

i am a current driver and i will speak for myself that things are picking up for me the last 5 weeks.Been a rough stretch since July no doubt but as with any new changes there are things to be worked out. I am happily employed here and have been both times that i have worked here. I dont whine and complain about things i have no control over.I just do my job plain and simple.Last time i checked we are in a recession and have been for quite some time so freight is a challenge for companies our size.We are not the size of other carriers such as Schneider,JB etc.Our board of directors voted unanimously not to meet with Celadon. In my opinion that means that currently the board of directors feels like we are not in dire straits as so many so called experts claim on here.
