This company is hanging on by a thread. They are losing personnel that has years of service. They have a lot of new dispatchers who do not know what they are doing. They will lie to you, run you illegally, and treat you very bad...

I'd have to wonder what happened. We had a former member here that drove for them, and was happy and was treated well. The only reason he left them was over the requirement to carry a hazmat license, and he decided that the hassle of carrying one wasn't worth going through.

Well YRC bought them, and things are changing. I am not sure, but it looks as if YRC is trying to dump them. Friends of mine who have been there for many years have quit or gotten fired.

I have worked for Glen moore over 6 years and yes they had stupid people running the company, dispatch and outers. Some of the mangement that left or quit when YRC took over left because they didn't want to change and just wanted to keep running the things as before. I personal think that was good, for years we have tried to get them to listen to us and see our point of view. Athought they don't listen to what we say, like any company we have gotten many new things. As for yellow selling or "dumping us" if they were for real about that then well we would have been gone. Years ago, rember they had brought us back in 05 and it is 07 a company like Yellow would get rid of the sore real quick. Word is that in time we will expand the team opertions and start running more itra company freight. This will not happen right away,as for the deal they have to work out with the unions needsto be set. Glen moore like any company was ran by a few dummys, since usf brought had no idea.

... Crete and Shaffer both offered me a job but would not guarantee me a regional position so I have not accepted employment with them yet. They told me I would do training and then be assigned to National Region first. Then I could apply for Regional positions when available.
... I just spoke with a USF Glen Moore recruiter who told me I could have a Regional position as soon as training was over so I am going to begin my paperwork process with them to see if I can get employment. Thier training is 3 days in Knoxville for me, then 6-10 weeks with trainer. Good things are, lodging & meals provided at orientation along with $500 pay. $500 per week pay during training. Free Idle Aire, SE Regional position avg 2800 miles weekly, BlueCrossBS insurance, 401k w/50cents/dollar match, 1 wk vacation 1st yr, 2 wks 2nd yr, International Eagle 05 up w/ 10sp conventional, 5-6 days out w/ 1-2 days hometime.
... ??? start at .29cpm after training w/ Rand Mcnally mileage pay ??? not so great but only drawback for me so far, will see and advise :biggrin_25524:

Do not be fooled by all of the hype, Usf/glen moore is just like swift,jb hunt, and all of the other starter companies. They will promise you the moon, but give you nothing but empty promises. I have seen a lot of advertisement by them, but read my story or in a few months you will be looking again while you are starving in a truck stop ######## on the cb radio. Good luck!!!

Just finished 6 weeks training, scheduled to get my own truck last week but it didn't happen. Got to go back to Knoxville tonight, hopefully to get my truck tomorrow.

You could be right Shag, I have seen some bad signs of such so far. Not real happy about what I have seen. I can only hope it will be better on my own but why would it be ? :() Very little preplans, usually deliver and wait. 5 hours to 15 hours. Every week you have to wonder if you actually will get home or not. You may get there, but it never seems to be for sure. I don't know if our dispatchers are as bad as they seem to me or if it is the planner or what.:biggrin_25513:

Worst thing that I despise is the fuel stop arrangements. We only have certain locations to get fuel. It might be a Pilot or a TA, but you can not get fuel at all Pilots or all TAs. Just certain ones hers and there. That is awful to deal with and confusing for me.:biggrin_2552:

Oh and if you choose to work for them you might as well sign up for the NE region. Even if you sign up for SE region you still go there but SE driver makes less money per mile. Their way of taking advantage! I know I am new back into trucking but they seem very unorganized to me.:biggrin_25517:

JMHO, been with them only since 3/24/08 with a trainer.

I keep hearing their ads on XM171 touting their "biggest pay increase ever." Anyone know what the pay is and what kind of miles one can expect.

    Thanks

To all interested in USF GLen Moore "BEWARE" This company is the biggest joke.Just as I have read in other posts thay promise the moon and all you receive is dirt.SE Regional is from texas to maine and florida to wisconsin.Time off is when thay decide to send you home and the time at home is from 10hrs to 5 or 6 days depending if thay need a load moved.....The dispatch in Knoxville Tn will force you to run illegal or sit till you do.The terminal manager in knoxville is so job scared he will do nothing to help you.I was there 2 yrs and folded up and moved on for the better. If you decide to quit thay will make it so that you have to turn the truck in at which ever terminal is the fartherest from your home, and after 2 yrs of work and not a single late load no accidents or incidents, safe driving awards, thay will put all kinds of wild things on your DAC REPORT to cause other companies not to hire you.Their favorite is NOT ELIGABLE FOR REHIRE to make it look like you were a bad employee...If ya like sitting in truck stops for days on end and not going home this is the place for you otherwise STAY CLEAR OF THEM...ON the better side thay do have great insurance if ya can make enough in your pay check to afford it.....Good Luck
