I no longer work for GM , but I think they deserve a B+ , the pay wasn't that great, but I was treated with respect.I also became good friends with my DM whom I still call occationally. And I never had a problem getting home.
    Thank You

I had a complete report at one time in this section, but it was lost in the transistion from the old board to the new one. I intend on rewriting it at some point.

I worked for USF Glen Moore for eight months, which I know is not a great deal of time, but the reason I left was due to my personal decision not to go through the cumbersome process of retaining my Hazardous materials endorsement on my license, and although my DM did try to get them to keep me, they wouldn't do it, so I left.

They are a better than average company, and they never missed a beat on my payroll. It was straight each and every week I was there.

There were certainly up's and down's, but the management of the company is more than willing to make things right when the down's happen, if a driver will give them half a chance.

I worked out of the Knoxville, Terminal, which I consider to be the best terminal in the company.

Yeah, the pay could have been better, but then I will always sacrifice pay for better hometime options, and they made sure that sacrifice was worth it. They never failed in the eight months to get me home on the weekends. Some were shorter than others, but they did the best they could to get me there timely.

Did you orwere you a driver with them? I was reading somewhere else that there was a big shakedown in the company, laying off some people and closing terminals. I don't know if starting with them is going to be good or bad. Could go either way I guess. Can you tell me anything that you might know about the USF GM side? Are they mostly terminal to terminal runs?

USF Glen Moore is a great company to drive for. I have been there four years. They do have a few up and downs like every company but they do treat drivers with respect. They have team runs from terminal to terminal but also solo runs, with a lot of drop and hooks. The benefits make up for lower milage pay and we just got a raise.

Thanks for the info. Please give me some more information on the trucks and equipment. And what region are you in? Solo or team? Home time for you? Union or non union?

Can you suggest what I might want to consider taking with me for the training period with trainer? Besides the essentials like clothing, shoes, sleeping bag, toothpaste-brush, deodorant, shampoo, sheets-what size?, pillow, book to read as I don't have a laptop, etc...
