I'm wanting to get a cheap areo truck and Volvo is one in the list. The trucks I have been looking at are late 90s to early 00s with 12.7 Detroit or 3406 cat.
I have heard some people say a lot of shops won't work on volvos but is that tue even if they don't have a Volvo engine in them? I don't wanna be stranded out in the middle of nowhere and need a part that I can't get for days.... Would his be a problem? Thanks
My other option are freightliner and kenworth t600 but they don't look as areodynamic and I hate the interiors.

I operated a 95 model Volvo with an N14 from 1999 until this past december. I have never had service refused.

I have heard of Volvo engine specific work being refused.

Does anyone know what thy weigh? I've heard volvos and freightliners are some of the lightest class 8s but I can't find anything on that.

It depends on what model Volvo VNL you are looking at, these weights listed are approximate.

    1998-Present VNL630-15,000lbs

    1998-Present VNL660-670-16,000lbs

    1998-99 VNL770-20,000lbs

    2000-Present VNL770-780-18,000lbs

Imo, Version-I ('98-2002) are the best of Volvos with any engine (Celect Plus, Series -60, Cat C15 ore D12C and D16B).
