Just bought Chinese adapter 9998555 with ptt/vcads but it was missing the main cable Deutsch 9 pin ( J1939 ) to DB15 male cable to connect truck to adapter so I bought it of the internet..
when I connect it all together vcads cant find my truck.. the scanning proces disappears after around 10% and nothing happens no message no nothing so my question is:
what is wrong?
Can it be the cable I bought since it was just Deutsch 9 to BD15 cable not some special heavy duty J1939 to DB15 cable - despite the name arent they the same ??
Just want to mention Cable I bought was $35 and "special" heavy duty truck interface J1939 cable is around $200
Any opinion will be greatly appreciated since I spent so much money for the scanner and cant get it working
Chinese 9998555 adapter with vcads???

does this work with the cummins isx as well? thanks for the help and info guys

interface is the same I think just different programs.. Vcads is for Volvo engines and insite for Cummins I think
CoyoteExpress Thanks this. -
[h=2]9998555 IS NOT RP1210A, so it cant be used with Insite.[/h]
it is very simple K-line and J1587 to COM (RS232) converter. It was designed for Volvo Tool box (used from early 90-s to '98). VCADS appeared in '97 and VCADS pro can be used with any RP1210 atapter but with later trucks. Really I know how to use Nexiq for example with '94 Volvo FH12, but it is some magic))))) -
I have been looking at those tuners. can you read only or can you write new tunes? I am somewhat familiar with tunning, I use HP tuners on my truck and cars. If only there could be an adapter lol

really what engine do you wanna tune up?
