2012 780 or 730 info
I'm once again looking at trucks mine is $1000 ing me to death up here there are some great deals on 2012 Volvo's so im looking for info from owners of 2012's with d13 and ishift. Mpgs your seeing any problems you have had, problems getting it serviced?? Any info on theses trucks would be appreciated.

$1,000-ing me to death... lol that's a good one. Man I've been there... "nickel and diming me to death" just doesn't do it justice in this day and age does it? Good luck ElRoy, honestly I think they make them all where they're $1,000-ing a man to death by design anymore...

I hear ya. I'm torn between a glider or a Volvo. The glider scares me as who knows what the talking heads will do in a couple years they could pass one law and make them all boat anchors? And you have a freight shaker... Or go the Volvo route not as nice to look at but better MPG's and the smoothest quietest ride around?? Volvo has some great deals on 2012's now, but my local Freightshaker dealer has also given me a good price on a glider, i love the thought of having a hood again and a longer wheelbase.... I have an issue with spending a bunch of dough on a truck I don't really like, when I got out of the crapcadia I looked hard for a 379 or a w900 but because my company won't let you bring in and trucks older than 5 years i was limited to 2007 and couldn't find anything up here, so I settled for the 387.... I may just try to stick it out for a couple years with this but I sure do like new stuff....decisions decisions.....

Go with the glider, there will still be a market for them somewhere even if your area mandates something different in the future.
What have you had to replace on the 387 so far?

I have a recurring shudder no body can figure out in top gear from 1100 to 1250 ish it's bad then tapers off .. Sometimes.. Replaced the clutch, couple wiring issues, shocks, motor mounts, exhaust, s cams, I'd have to dig thru invoices to tell you anymore, it needs a jackshaft soonhas up and down play and rotational play, I had it checked over by cat and a pete dealer before purchasing but it's still a bit of a bottomless pit...

Still looking for info on D13 ishift 730 or 780 I have a dealer who has a 730 it's a great deal unfortunately it's white.... Has a loaded interior but they skimped on the exterior single exhaust. No chrome or lights, did I mention it's white?? Lol still would like to hear from owners with mpg info ride info and noise info n

Elroythekid, I was in your shoes about 2 yrs ago. Sold an 03 pete to get a newer model truck and to gain mpg's. I have been very pleased with the comfort and ride of my 07 780. I cannot comment on the mpg's of the volvo drivetrain because I have a cummins in my truck. I do have a couple of friends with volvo drivetrains and they do better than me on mpg's. I plan on buying a new 730 next year myself and it WILL have the volvo engine and ishift. Good luck and let me know if you get the 730.
