So even plugging the EPG airline is not gonna do any good. My question is how to modify the EPG so I can get rid of Idle EGR function but keep the exhaust brake part of it?

The Air Valve Unit supplies three different air pressures - 33 psi (warmhold) 110 psi (exhaust brake) and 14 psi(idle EGR), and is controlled by 3 cables- 12v power supply(gray/black), EPG 2 control(gray/white), EPG 1 control(gray).

I do not block supply line, I block line from valve to EPG actuator

But still I will lose the compression brake.
Compression brake needs EPG to be closed to work properly?

EPG adds about 10% of brake torque only when jakes are on

    is your cruise working?

Cruise is working. Don't get me wrong, my compression brake works without EPG (plugged not disconnected). My concern is if there will be any damage in the long run to the Compression brake system.

Volvo compression brake doesn't work without EPG. Just tried it and it doesn't

yes, but with newer ECM only. Newer ECM got two horizontal connectors (on previouse D12D and D12C they were vertically located). This ECM was designed for twin coil injector unit. And this ECM is used with D13. This ECM is "smart" and disables jakes with EPG fail.
