    Sounds like there's some underlying issues not revealed. Why anyone in their right mind would fork over 23 grand on a truck that is supposedly under warranty is suspect from the get go. Just sayin'.

    What is the point of a warranty when you have to fight to get something covered, all the while your payments are still due? And $135 for a new volvo? You could of had a new Paccar for that.

    Lol, oh I know plenty of guy's that would refute that statement. Like anything else, you get good ones and bad ones.

    It's a 2012 Volvo VNL780 13L Volvo engine. The engine has less power than usual, it gets very hot right away and doesn't cool down the way it should be doing. After climbing a big hill and the engine gets hot, it stays at 200-210 Fahrenheit even if I idle for half an hour. I also get a suffocating burned oil or exhaust fume smell that is coming from the engine or the emission system and it gets inside the cab. The smell gets stronger when the truck is pulling a heavy load or if I'm driving in the mountains where the engine is subjected to greater effort.

    It's could be how it's governed from what I've heard. I drove Volvo's and they break at the higher speeds. Also, I didn't have much luck keeping it at 62 mph around sharp turns on some highways. The volvo's that I drove like 55 mph which is a good speed when hauling at almost max capacity. I don't think they can ever completely fix your problem. I've driven other brands of trucks and they hug the highway at top speeds (180 mph). It also can be the instability cause by the cab not being attached solidly to the frame. You have airbags and shocks, at volvo's top speed something inside breaks and they don't fix it. You can rock the cab while it's at a standstill. It's really unstable in high winds. I don't know how I made it to some of my final destinations. All of this modern technology is good in theory but not so practical. Good Luck to you!

    Operating temperature is 175-180 fahrenheit (75-80 celsius). The engine fan kicks in at 200-210 fahrenheit, at 220 fahrenheit it is too hot.
