many Volvos get problems with Cummins engine, Bendix ore Knorr brake system, Wabco compressors....
I'd say these problems are not Volvo specific becouse I see the same components with the same issues on other trucks
really Volvo problems are related with new D13 engine and its emission stuff, Volvo electronics and wiring. -
That is normal. It's a very hot engine that has to run at a lower speed. I used to sweat with the ac on. The mechanics told me to run at a lower speed. You definitely won't be a super trucker.

I would have never went with a Volvo engine to begin with. The Cummins ISX 450-485 is a better choice for that truck.

Am I the only one that noticed one post that someone was claimimg 180 MPH!?! What's he been smoking?
The d 13 that year, pretty sure has a 220 thermostat. -
oops 120 mph.

Had a old fld that ran out in the mid 120s . So I knew 60 faster was dreaming!

My '06 had a cummins. Replaced quite a few things with low mileage, talked with a couple of friends who wrench on them and was told in no uncertain terms to stay away from Cummins right now. Too many problems, but the biggest complaint is they won't stand behind their engine because they're not sure exactly what the problem is. I'm not a Volvo engine guy by any stretch, but if the guy's who are workin' on them give you a bit of advice I'd say at the least take a look at it. I was Cat for 30 years and this D13 doesn't compare at all but hey, it ain't all bad.

The current emissions dd15 is doing good.
