Last week when pulling into a fuel stop, I was waiting in line and fuel island and all of the sudden my check engine ECU came on... I set the brakes and checked the diagnostics, It said out of calibration??? What in the world does that mean??? It went off when i turned truck off, came back on again a few days later...
Also I notice if im pulling a hill, and im going along, then i downshift( automatic ). It will downshift and eventually my check engine ECU light will come on. It will go off once I get back on flat land and Im in cruising mode again and fan has went off.
I notice my boost pressure is only around 27-29 also. It use to be a little above 3O or so......
Im looking to get back into a freightliner......soon.....
Out of calibration???

I am guessing its a volvo???? Well it should gave you also a code: SID 146/266 meaning egr#1 or egr#2 out of calibration. Replace egr#1 valve for SID 146 or egr#2 valve for sid 266 and you'll be fine or you can choose to shut them off your choice

Guy said you must be driving a Volvo lol that's the reason the check engine light is coming on they have no pull they do ride nice however.

Yes its a 2OO6 78O D12..;...... yeah before today i was gonna say the light never comes on while im actually driving down the road but, it has been doing it today!!!!! this is 5th EGR in just over 26 months....at 22OO a piece, im thinking long and hard about trading and going back to freightliner!!!! I have 8 payments left on volvo. Ive put just over 235k miles in 27 months. It seems when EGR goes bad, alot of other things on truck do also. Been getting the fuel code also today. (the one with the drops nexts to the fuel pump)

I've had mine blocked for over 2 yrs now with no problems. I followed a guy from Canada's lead (thank u Reg) and have never been happier. What we did was to take the pipe at the front of the motor, the one that starts out steel but then goes to silicone over the top of the heads.... take that apart and at the end that connects to the silicone hose , weld a plate across the opening. grind it down to the circumforance of the pipe. reinstall and be happy!!! the egr's will still function (open and close), but no recycled air will get back to the motor, the egr's will throw no fault codes, no air will "flow" over the egr's (which is why they clog up with soot and need to be replaced). the engine will run cooler, turbo spools up faster, more MPG's....ect, ect, ectPaceMotor Thanks this. -
here's the guy that started it all:
