Hey guys, Im driving a 2011 Volvo 670 D13 and this message has been popping out recently. It comes out usually after I shift into 8th gear and when it does the engine looses power. But then it goes away and it regains its strength. It is not my truck as I am only a company driver, but I wanted to see if its just a fuse I can change before I let my dispatcher know and puts me out of service. Also the seatbelt light and buzzer stays on after I fasten it. Its not as important as the fault message but it is annoying. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

contact your company shop, speak with them first. then let the others know
I call a shop and ask questions and/or take it in and bring to their attention,
maybe its a quick fix, maybe not, could be a number of thingsx1Heavy, newbie.trucker127 and CondoCruiser Thank this. -
They need to hook the laptop up and see what's going on. Repairs are part of the job and little things can cause more problems if you put it off. Seek help. Normal chain of command is talk with the shop manager and he'll communicate with your dispatcher. Or you can tell them both. You tell just a dispatcher he might be more concerned about a load and he isn't a mechanic. It would take you a year to pay for that motor!
Have you checked your fluid levels? Maybe hook up the passenger seat belt and see if that makes a difference?x1Heavy and newbie.trucker127 Thank this. -
read engine fault codes list. would be something interesting)

Volvo. The electrical nightmare. You gotta love it. I drove a 670 new to 225k and at 200k everything electrical started going to hell. That stop engine one is particularly annoying isn't it? lol when mine did it it was the lower crankcase pressure sensor. It'll be fine if it's just coming on and going off until you can get it to the shop. Unfortunately a fuse ain't going to fix it. If the check engine light hasn't become standard equipment on it yet it will soon. I haven't talked to one of our guys yet that are in our volvos that hasn't had to continually stare at a check engine light after a certain number of miles. Once mine got to the point where I got the stop engine fault it started being put in the shop every 2 weeks or so for some sensor or relay or other electrical piece of garbage that failed. They finally gave up and gave me something else to drive. Nice truck, very user friendly and good control layout, but what a nightmare electrically once it got broken in good. Good luck.

what fault code is it giving you? you do know how to get them right? let us know, we'll look it up for you

the volvo I have now was in shop the about every two some times 3 weeks as well. that went on for about 8 months, they finally got it running decent. shop time still comes tho just not so quick. I've tried to get in another a truck a few times but what comes my way I don't want.. same problems different truck, why do that again.. this one is almost done with repairs ... for awhile anyway. beats landing in the shop every 2/3 weeks. a volvo dealer has software to anaylze fault codes a company shop doesn't. then comes waiting on parts to arrive.

Hey guys. I took the truck to the shop and it turns out that the oil pressure sensor was messed up. So that took care of that problem, for now lol. As far as the seat belt issue it was also a sensor but they gave me a whole new seat belt. Thanks for all the comments and feedback regarding this. I really appreciate it. Keep on truck'n guys.

yeah you're going to learn every sensor on that truck if you stay in it for any length of time lol.....relays too......maybe even get an ecm flash or two along the way......mine did the oil pressure sensor too......air flow sensor twice.....upper and lower crankcase pressure sensors....fuel flow sensor......and on and on and on.....once it hit 200k they all decided now might be a good time to give up.......injectors will be an issue around 200k as well if it hasn't already been done the factory cups were woefully inadequate and wear out then and they get replaced with the new version that's stainless steel......there was a recall on alot of them but don't know about your specific model......you'll know for sure when those start to go cause it'll really lose the power
if the crankcase pressure sensors go out make sure they get the right one in lol they look the same but the wiring pattern on them is different....found that one out the hard way too.......great truck but good luck with it once it gets some miles on itnewbie.trucker127 Thanks this. -
On mine its low coolant. The sensor ides down the truck and shuts it off.
