engine fan switch

When I ordered mine Volvo stated it is not offered as an option but I understand you can add one, just have to make sure to wire it correctly. Check further into this forum there's plenty of threads on it.

 

you should be able to pull the dash down and check there will be a hand full of switch wires there just read them and see what one says fan overide put a switch in it

 

How do you pull out the right side 10 swich panel? Does it have screws or clamps on the inside?

 

Should have screws the plastic should pop off and screws under it

 

I found no auxilary inputrs for fan switch, so the only way - use A/C clutch input to actuate fan

 

My 2 cents don't do it.Its a computer controlled engine if you needed it it would have been there already.Slow down and downshift turn the ac off for a few minutes on the hill.Thats just my opinion

 

I agree 100% with putting a Manual fan switch in, my 770 had the plug in it, all I did was get it turned on at Volvo in the computer and plugged in the switch it was at the left side of the steering colomn, I have an '07 780 and there is NO plug in the harness to plug a switch into, I'm taking mine to Volvo they said they can wire it in in an hr.
I think it's not the smartess thing by not having a manual switch, up here in Canada we pull very heavy loads (125k lbs super B loads) and we for sure need to cool down before and during the pulls in the mountains here.

 

I didn't have one on my '06, don't have one on this '12 and they seem to do what they're supposed to do. Uh Canada's not the only place that has a hill or two. Just sayin'.

 

Lol I'm not saying Canada is the only place with hills, I didn't mean it like that if it came across like that, but we pull 125k lbs loads plus up here all the time, were not that lucky to only have 80k lbs loads being a common thing up here, that's why out roads are so rough and beaten up up here!
I was more less referring to the heavy loads in the hills, I live a couple hrs east of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta.
