I have an 09 Volvo 670 with a D13 with the dpf. The last two times it has regened while driving, it would start regening again fifteen minutes later. Has anyone else had this trouble. The only codes I have are ones for the nox sensor. This last time when it quit regening it said regen needed and then went out and the light on the dash went out too. Anyone else have this happen or know what causes this. Thanks

We have an 09 780 qith a cummins engine and having the same problem. Nobody can figure it out. Had NOX sensors cleaned, replaced 7th injector and they reprogrammed it. Nothing has worked. 8 to 10 regens a day. No idea why

OH wow mine only carries on when its going to do it normal regen, if I do a parked revenue it seems to help. Those regens cost a few gallons of fuel each time. My nox sensor has been showing problems but I have never been derated so Volvo said it'll be ok for now but I may replace it and pray. It just started doing it. I don't want to harm the dpf, I did get a code once for low fuel pressure after the last regen. I am going to stop by Volvo tomorrow and see what they think. I just don't want to pit a few thousand in it right now, its been a few months since I have and work is slow now.

I believe replacing the 7th injector only cost about $350 including labor. It was totally clogged. And yes, it is killing our fuel milage. Just completed a 2500 mile run with 21k in the box and only got 6.2 mpg

I own ' 08 780/D13, I have 1,157,000 miles original motor/ does 1 regen after approx 2000-2500miles and lasts approx 22 min.Used to do 2 regens/day when I got it in July 07; but in 2009 or 2010 Volvo up grated the emission software; Did you check it for software upgrade?Take it to any Volvo dealers plug it and check; I,m not sure if this works for Cummins, I know many o/o with isx running endless regens.

It has 464000 miles but I bought it in October with 380000 on it. I've had it in the shop shortly after I got it and they checked for the upgrades because I was not happy with the fuel mileage. But it used to regen a few times a week and does now but it will keep regening until I do a parked regen. The Volvo shop said get my dpf cleaned and start there. They said they need cleaned every 250000 miles. So that is where I am at.

Try unplugging the EGR Temp sensor in the Venturi Pipe and see if that helps with the regens and it should also help with fuel MPG. It is the sensor that is in the pipe overtop the water pump on right side of engine.
It it will give you an active code in the diagnose screen and it may derate just a bit, but it will help narrow down the problem.
I have been running with my unplugged because the Egr cooler or valve is going out and it regens once a day and my fuel mpg came up 1.2mpg -
I have the same problem on my '09 D13. its doing regen 10 times a day. I had filter cleaned and 7th injector replaced and still its doing the same thing.
I was wondering did you solve the problem, and if you did how did you do it?
Thanks
