If u have bad fuel i hughly doubt that its the exhaust mabifold leak i mean it doesnt help but i would say 100 percent its not the whole problem u definately need to take it to a volvo mechanic so they can properly diagnose the problem and if u want to replace the manifold u can have all the manuals i would definately not suggest doing it yourself u need to have someone with experience do it
ved12 465hp very very low mpg

If uts a good mechanic they will there is a lot of stuff that has to be removed its not as easy as cummins or deteoit u can screw up on a lot of little things
-
Also you need to factor in the winter blend fuel when assessing your MPG. This year the blend seems to be bad. I've seen a drop of about 1 mpg, perhaps a bit more. Others have seen up to a 2 mpg drop. So your problem may not be completely mechanically related.

what blend? this is not diesel fuel blend. this is elephant piss. smells like I don't know, anyway the odor I can feel when I'm fueling is way different that I use to know. I wouldn't be surprised if a small Chinese will pop up from my fuel tank asking me if I still need him to paddle. food is not food, fuel is not fuel, tobacco is not tobacco anymore... Are we still humans!!!??? Don't answer! I don't want to have a stroke. At least, not for the moment.

The volvo d-12's are not not noted for great fuel mi. Better off with d-13. Also one of the egr valves can fail partially closed and it will not set a code in ecm. No offense i bought an 07 780 volvo new had that pile of swedish junk for a year and got back to a kenworth. Never did get any fuel mileage out of that engine

You can download a copy of engine manual and other subsystem manuals from volvo trk website. Pdf files. I had them all at one time but deleted them when i sold that junker.

check you don't have leaks around the outlet of the turbo to the intake manifold

Hello everyone, changed exhaust manifold and turbo, no leaks anymore. Did a good job. The only mistake i did was to keep the old egr clamps, which started to leak after about 2500 miles, changed them and it's good now. Problem solved.
BTW did everything myself, and i guess saved lots of $$$. -
Congrats! Can you talk about the tips&tricks, please.
