Long story short. All of a sudden the "click-click" sound when turn on the left/right signal or hazard stopped working. Also the low air sound warning was not working anymore.
I called Volvo and after they laugh a bit about me not having "click-click" anymore they said I will have to replace the whole electronic dash(1000$ calibration included). Well, my printer is broken so I couldn't print any currency so I decided to wait for a while.
It was quite annoying not to hear the clicking sound anymore. But luckily a friend of mine bought a used dash from scarp yard to experiment some funny things so I asked him if I can have the four legged part that was "clicking and buzzing". He said yes so I cut all four legs of that part as low as I could , I soldered four wires (one for each leg) and then I soldered the wires on my defective "buzzer". And ...."ta-daaaa". Now the "click-click" is back on business.
I won't start bi-tching Volvo engineers but I would like to see the face of the guy who decided to make the buzzer part of the whole dash.

    Johny41 Thanks this.

I was quoted $ 1000 for cluster alone, plus $ 200 for Volvo for privilege of having data transferred, and about 2hrs labor. All together about $ 1500.

You have to take of the electronic dash, unscrew the back, and on the electronic plaque you will see the beeper that is responsible for all the sounds(low air, flashers, alarms). It is a perfect square component, 2x2 inch square with four legs. Open the thing and you will see it easy. Is right in the middle and a bit low on the plaque.
You will have to buy an used dash from a scrapyard(cost around 300$). DO NOT cut the broken buzzer from your plaque. Solder 4 wires one for each leg on the defective buzzer on your dash(length not less than 7 inch coz you will have to bend the wires in order to come out of the back cover you will have to screw back). Then solder the wires keeping the exact same position on the new buzzer who will hang looking ugly on your plaque. Use the solder very careful coz the plaque and the buzzer will come hot really fast. Take ur time and will be ok.
Then plug the harnesses into the plaque with that new buzzer soldered and check if it makes any sound. If not then one leg came off inside so you will have to check again.
It took me one hour to make it work. Now that I know what to do it will take less than 30 minutes. Just take ur time.

I've run without low pressure buzzer for a few years. Got ECM replaced ( Cummins ISX ), and darn buzzer returned. I even got that click sound every now and then. Somebody explain it to me, because im lost :biggrin_2552:

Do those for legs act as a ground for the speaker

I'm not sure I understand ur question, but the part is a square with 4 legs. Just weld a wire to each leg and weld the wires to the corresponding leg to the defective part on the plaque.
Tip: when welding the wires use the soldering tool as less possible coz the temperature transmitted to the part through it's legs may damage the part.
