2001 Volvo 660 Eaton Fuller Automatic Transmission Problems

I've owned mine for years and have only had that problem when the clutch was out of adjustment, the clutch brake could be the problem. It should go into gear even if the truck is not running. I would have to turn the key on, push in the clutch and move the selector to D or R, after I heard the accuators put the truck in gear I would turn the key all the way to start and hold it there, then move the selector to N till it started cranking and put it back in D or R before the engine started. Sometimes it would take me a couple times to get it right but I could at least get it in gear to move the truck. I have had to replace the actuators once and the clutch once, but other than that it has been a good transmission for me.

 

Yeah, if it is showing a code, that would probably do it. Didn't know it had an active code in it. Good place to start. Good luck and let me know if that fixes it in case I have the same problem.

 

I know- older post- Im curious if you figurd out your issue with the transmisison acting up? I have a 01 770 with autoshift and n-14 eninge. from what i have read a lot online- most issues are due to dirty wiring harness or they are loose....the truc ki just bought- the xyshifter had a bad electric motor contact on the end cap- which melted it. (plastic on the end cap)...

Hey I just wanted to say this has helped me tremendously I actually bypassed the starter relay to a push button start and key in start position and start in D=Drive ready to go just let go clutch and has saved me and my family stuck farway from home God Bless you .
