My D13 is 1450-1750 torque. I just hauled to houston from east coast of canada, up to toronto, and back to the east coast. 7.7 mpg. Halifax to Houston. 7.9. Houston to toronto. Both legs grossing 79k. Toronto back to Halifax 9.2 MPG (very light load).
Cams and EGR are a known fact with the ISX. Look around here YOU WILL SEE. I didn't get this from the DEALER, but from a friend of mine who is a MECHANIC at a Freightliner dealer, he specializes in Detroit and cummins and says "don't touch a cummins". Don't shoot me I'm just the messenger.

My I shift doesn't kick out of gear backing up at all. Or idling through lots. Has hill assist start. Don't know where some of this ducus is coming from Maybe older Volvos were that way. For sure new Shakers with Ultra shift do. The original Auto shift is far superior to the Ultra as far as tight quarter maneuvering

ECO TORQUE. It de rates from 1750 to 1450 to save fuel when needed. It is 455 hp pulls harder than my 15 lt cat did.

Ha ha ha ha. Don't make me laugh. I think the reason that no cat Guys have chimed-in is because after 2000 Volvo and cat do not mix. Now, there is no 1450lbtq engine will out-pull the 2k tq, let alone the kitty. Unless you're talking about the twin turbo cat, I might believe you, hardly. My ex 12.7 Detroit would have out pulled every d, for the exception of d16, in some instances.

With the Ishift, how do you go about insuring you're pressed all the way up against dock pads good before setting the brakes? What does it do when you back up to a wall with slight fuel added?

What I was eluding to was that I've been to a few docks that you have to compress a latch spring down to ride up and over it with your ICC bumper and will the IShift want to kick it out before you're actually pressed up fully to the dock? Or does the transmission remain engaged so long as you are applying fuel (and no brake), regardless?

But never mind, I don't want to mess with an auto anyway after learning more about them. I just don't like the loss of instant and absolute control in all situations.
