    Is it possible to bypass this oil separator? I fixed the leak 2-3 times, replacing the square seal attaching the separator to engine, but is leaking again . The problem is now I have 1,260k mil miles, more oil dirty blow by and I'm thinking to stick a long hose on top hose and take it back under the truck; the reason is not only the leak but the but I have blow by fumes ending in my cab; I understand this separator saves the oil from blow by fumes and drains it back to the motor, ; my last DetroitD60 didn't have this, but this feature woudn't warn me when the motor is consuming, not burning oil, right?

    This oil separator an D13 is a pain, cheap plastic bad design, located right in front of the ECM ;
    I fixed the leaking gasket in-between separator and motor 2-3 times, the cheap weak designed plastic tube from heads top to separator is cracking leaking fumes /oil;

    Last week was leaking again, by the time I took it to shop was a mess of oil contamination , my dash cluster wasn't working, ECM not communicating with motor, sensors faults; They replaced ECM, all motor wiring, some sensors and the whole oil separator canister; almost a week wasted in shop and aprox. 6500$ ;
